Shipping & returns
Tracked delivery anywhere in Australia. It is free on orders of $75 or more, and a flat $27.50 below that. Allow 5 to 7 days, after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.
Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. You cover the cost of returning it unless the item is faulty.
If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we put it right at no cost to you under the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, return postage included. Those guarantees cannot be excluded.
Looking after it
Change the batteries when the low-battery warning appears rather than after. Keep the manual keys somewhere that is not inside the safe. Check the anchor bolts once a year.
About this product
A steel keypad safe with two locking rods and a dual alarm.
In a 1-cubit and a 1.8-cubit size, with an LED keypad, a removable shelf and four pre-drilled anchor holes.
A steel keypad safe in two sizes, black, with an electronic lock and two manual override keys.
Two 2cm locking rods engage the frame, which is the part that resists being levered.
The alarm sounds on violent vibration or on three wrong entries.
Inside there is an LED light and a removable shelf.
Four pre-drilled holes in the back and base, with four expansion bolts in the box.

A home safe is only as good as the way it is fixed down, and the honest thing to say about any safe at this price is that its job is to stop an opportunist walking off with your passport, not to defeat someone with time and tools.

What this one has going for it is the two 2cm locking rods. A door held by a single latch can be levered; two thick rods into the frame is a different proposition, and it is the specification worth comparing between safes.

The keypad takes a master code and a guest code, each 3 to 8 digits, and there are two manual keys for the day you forget both. The screen warns you before the batteries die, which is the failure that otherwise locks you out.
The alarm sounds on violent vibration and after three wrong entries. It is a deterrent rather than a barrier, and it works on the same principle as a car alarm: noise is unwelcome.
Inside, an LED light and a removable shelf, so it holds documents flat or divides into two.
Four pre-drilled holes in the back and the base with expansion bolts included. Bolt it down. An 11kg safe that is not bolted down is a box with a handle on it, and this is the single most important thing on the page.
One thing has come off this listing. It previously suggested storing pistols. Firearm storage in Australia is regulated, and a licence holder has to use a safe built and installed to their state's requirements. This is not that safe, and we are not going to imply it is.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. Under the Australian Consumer Law our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded: they must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and do what we said they would. If they do not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a major failure the choice between a refund and a replacement is yours, not ours. We pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes does the home safe come in?
1-cubit and 1.8-cubit. They are priced separately: the smaller is $339 and the larger $439.
How heavy are they?
11kg for the 1-cubit and 17kg for the 1.8-cubit.
Should I bolt it down?
Yes, and it is the most important thing on this page. There are four pre-drilled holes and four expansion bolts in the box. An 11kg safe that is not bolted down is a box with a handle.
What happens if I forget the code?
There are two manual override keys. Keep them somewhere that is not inside the safe.
How long can the code be?
Between 3 and 8 digits, and there is a separate guest code as well as the master.
What sets the alarm off?
Violent vibration, or three wrong code entries. Entering the correct code stops it.
What happens when the batteries run low?
The screen shows a low-battery warning before they die, which is the failure that otherwise locks you out. Change them when you see it.
Is there a light inside?
Yes, a built-in LED.
Is there a shelf?
Yes, and it is removable, so you can keep documents flat or split the space.
Can I store a firearm in it?
No, and we have removed that from the listing. Firearm storage in Australia is regulated and a licence holder must use a safe built and installed to their state's requirements. This is a consumer document and valuables safe.
Will it protect things in a fire?
It is not sold as a fire safe and we make no fire rating claim. If fire is your concern, buy a safe with a published fire rating.
What is it made of?
Alloy steel, welded, in black.
How thick are the locking rods?
2cm in diameter, and there are two of them.
Can I fix it to a wall as well as the floor?
The four holes are across the back and the base, so either.
What size documents fit?
A4 lies flat in both sizes. The 1.8-cubit takes more of it, and taller items with the shelf out.
How much is delivery on the Home Safe Box?
Free on orders of $75 or more. Below that it is $27.50 including GST, whatever you order. Nothing is added at the end.
How long will it take to arrive?
5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. The handling time is the part before it leaves us and the 5 to 7 days is the delivery itself.
Is there a faster delivery option?
Not through the website. Every order goes on the same tracked service. If you need something by a particular date, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done.
Do you deliver across the whole of Australia?
Yes, every state and territory. We are an online supplier with no shop or showroom, which is part of how the pricing works.
Do the prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on this site is what you pay in Australian dollars, GST included.
Can I change my mind after it arrives?
You have 15 days under our own returns policy. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so this is us choosing to offer it rather than a statutory return. Return postage is yours and a $39 handling charge applies to a change-of-mind return.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
Tell us and we will sort it. Under the Australian Consumer Law goods have to be of acceptable quality, match their description and do what we said they would, and if they do not that is our problem to fix rather than yours to pay for. Email theteam@customersupport.care with a photograph and your order number.
Can I cancel after ordering?
Until it ships, yes. Contact us within 12 hours, because most orders leave within 24. A 12.5 percent service and processing fee applies to a cancellation.
Do I get a receipt and a tracking number?
A receipt by email as soon as payment goes through, and a second email with the tracking number once the order ships.
What payment methods do you take?
Card payments through our checkout, and PayPal. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never stored by us.
What currency are your prices in?
Australian dollars. Every price is the price you pay in AUD, with no conversion at the end.
Is there a discount code?
Yes. `valued-customer` takes 15 percent off your goods at the cart. It applies to the products rather than to the delivery.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
No. We are an online supplier with no physical shop or showroom, and that is deliberate: the saving goes into the price rather than into a lease.
Can I buy several Home Safe Boxs for an office?
Yes, and if you want more than a handful use the wholesale quote page and we will price it properly rather than making you add them to the cart one at a time.
Who are you, exactly?
Home Office Company, a division of BuyFactory Direct Pty Ltd, ABN 30 656 628 938. Our administration office is Suite 307, Norwest Central, 12 Century Circuit, Norwest NSW 2153. The company details are on every legal page rather than buried.
