Shipping & returns

Tracked delivery anywhere in Australia. It is free on orders of $75 or more, and a flat $27.50 below that. Allow 5 to 7 days, after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.

Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. You cover the cost of returning it unless the item is faulty.

If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we put it right at no cost to you under the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, return postage included. Those guarantees cannot be excluded.

Looking after it

Empty the bin before it packs solid. Do not feed staples, and do not oil it unless the manual says to. If it stops mid-sheet, use reverse rather than pulling.

Cross Cut On PaperConfetti, not strips
220mm ThroatWide enough for A4 landscape
21L BinSo you empty it less often
Reverse FunctionFor the jam you will eventually cause

Cross-cuts paper, strip-cuts cards and discs, into a 21L bin.

A 220mm throat at 2.6 metres a minute, with a reverse for jams, in a 6-sheet and an 8-sheet model.

A cross-cut shredder for a home office, in a 6-sheet and an 8-sheet model.

Paper is cross cut into small particles; credit cards and CDs are strip cut.

The throat is 220mm wide and it cuts at 2.6 metres a minute.

The bin holds 21L, which is a lot for a machine this size.

Reverse backs a jam out instead of you dismantling it. Charcoal, 5.27kg.

Home Office Shredder

Cross cut is the reason to buy this rather than a cheaper machine. A strip-cut shredder turns a page into long ribbons that can be reassembled by a determined person; cross cut turns it into small particles that cannot.

Home Office Shredder

Cards and discs go through as strips rather than particles, which is normal: nobody reconstructs a bank card from strips, and cutting plastic into confetti wears a machine out.

Home Office Shredder

The throat is 220mm, so A4 goes in the long way without folding. That sounds minor until you have shredded a hundred pages one fold at a time.

Home Office Shredder

The 21L bin is generous for a desk-side machine, and it is the specification that decides how often you deal with the thing rather than use it.

Home Office Shredder

The reverse function exists because every shredder jams eventually, usually on a stapled corner or an over-optimistic handful. Reverse backs the paper out.

Home Office Shredder

A note on capacity. The old listing said ten sheets at once, in the headline and in the body, on a product Woo sells as a 6-sheet and an 8-sheet model. We have set the capacity per model and removed the ten-sheet claim, because it was not true of either.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You can change your mind. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. Under the Australian Consumer Law our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded: they must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and do what we said they would. If they do not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a major failure the choice between a refund and a replacement is yours, not ours. We pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sheets will the shredder take?

Six on the 6-sheet model and eight on the 8-sheet model. The old listing claimed ten in a headline; neither model does ten, so we removed it.

What is the difference between the two models?

The sheet capacity. Everything else, the throat, the bin, the cut type and the speed, is the same.

Is it cross cut or strip cut?

Cross cut on paper, which is the secure one. Cards and discs go through as strips.

Can it shred credit cards?

Yes, one at a time.

Can it shred CDs and DVDs?

Yes, one at a time.

How wide is the feed?

220mm, so A4 goes in without folding.

How big is the bin?

21L.

What happens if it jams?

Use the reverse function to back the paper out. Do not pull at it.

Will it shred staples?

It is not built for them and they are what jams a shredder. Take them out.

How fast is it?

2.6 metres a minute.

How loud is it?

It is a shredder, so it is not quiet in use. It runs in bursts rather than continuously.

Can it run continuously?

No home shredder can. Give it a rest between batches; the motor is thermally protected and stopping is how it protects itself.

What colour is it?

Charcoal.

How big and heavy is it?

32 x 22.5 x 41.3cm and 5.27kg, so it sits beside a desk rather than on it.

Is it secure enough for personal documents?

Cross-cut particles are the right level for bank statements, tax paperwork and anything with an account number on it.

How much is delivery on the Home Office Shredder?

Free on orders of $75 or more. Below that it is $27.50 including GST, whatever you order. Nothing is added at the end.

How long will it take to arrive?

5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. The handling time is the part before it leaves us and the 5 to 7 days is the delivery itself.

Is there a faster delivery option?

Not through the website. Every order goes on the same tracked service. If you need something by a particular date, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done.

Do you deliver across the whole of Australia?

Yes, every state and territory. We are an online supplier with no shop or showroom, which is part of how the pricing works.

Do the prices include GST?

Yes. Every price on this site is what you pay in Australian dollars, GST included.

Can I change my mind after it arrives?

You have 15 days under our own returns policy. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so this is us choosing to offer it rather than a statutory return. Return postage is yours and a $39 handling charge applies to a change-of-mind return.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

Tell us and we will sort it. Under the Australian Consumer Law goods have to be of acceptable quality, match their description and do what we said they would, and if they do not that is our problem to fix rather than yours to pay for. Email theteam@customersupport.care with a photograph and your order number.

Can I cancel after ordering?

Until it ships, yes. Contact us within 12 hours, because most orders leave within 24. A 12.5 percent service and processing fee applies to a cancellation.

Do I get a receipt and a tracking number?

A receipt by email as soon as payment goes through, and a second email with the tracking number once the order ships.

What payment methods do you take?

Card payments through our checkout, and PayPal. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never stored by us.

What currency are your prices in?

Australian dollars. Every price is the price you pay in AUD, with no conversion at the end.

Is there a discount code?

Yes. `valued-customer` takes 15 percent off your goods at the cart. It applies to the products rather than to the delivery.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

No. We are an online supplier with no physical shop or showroom, and that is deliberate: the saving goes into the price rather than into a lease.

Can I buy several Home Office Shredders for an office?

Yes, and if you want more than a handful use the wholesale quote page and we will price it properly rather than making you add them to the cart one at a time.

Who are you, exactly?

Home Office Company, a division of BuyFactory Direct Pty Ltd, ABN 30 656 628 938. Our administration office is Suite 307, Norwest Central, 12 Century Circuit, Norwest NSW 2153. The company details are on every legal page rather than buried.
