Shipping & returns
Tracked delivery anywhere in Australia. It is free on orders of $75 or more, and a flat $27.50 below that. Allow 5 to 7 days, after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.
Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. You cover the cost of returning it unless the item is faulty.
If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we put it right at no cost to you under the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, return postage included. Those guarantees cannot be excluded.
Looking after it
Keep it away from anything sharp, which includes castor wheels on other furniture and staples on the floor. Top the ball up with the pump when it softens. Wipe the base with a damp cloth.
About this product
A 52cm exercise ball in a wheeled base, at desk height.
Built for people between 152 and 180cm, and it fits a standard desk. The ball lifts out.
An exercise ball held in a wheeled base at about desk height.
The ball is 52cm and comes out of the base, so it is also just a ball when you want one.
Four easy-glide castors, two of which lock, and an adjustable metal support bar.
A pump is in the box, and you will need it again: the ball settles after the first inflation.
It suits people between 152 and 180cm. Outside that range it will not sit at the right height.
A balance ball chair is an exercise ball sitting in a wheeled frame so that it stops rolling away and sits at the right height for a desk. That is the whole idea, and it is a better one than it sounds.
Sitting on an unstable surface means small constant adjustments rather than one fixed position held for four hours. People who like these chairs like them for that. People who do not tend to find they want a backrest by the afternoon.
The honest version: it is not a replacement for an office chair for everybody, and we would not tell you it was. Plenty of people use one for part of the day and a conventional chair for the rest, and that is a perfectly sensible way to own both.
The ball is a standard 52cm exercise ball and lifts out of the base, so the chair does not stop being useful if you also want to use the ball on the floor. The pump is included, and you should expect to top the ball up once or twice in the first week as it settles.
The height range matters more than with a normal chair, because there is no gas lift. Between 152 and 180cm the ball puts you at desk height. Outside it, you will be reaching up or hunching down, and no amount of enthusiasm fixes that.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so the 15 days we give you from delivery is our own policy rather than a statutory return, and the goods have to come back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. Under the Australian Consumer Law our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded: they must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and do what we said they would. If they do not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a major failure the choice between a refund and a replacement is yours, not ours. We pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
What size is the ball?
52cm across. It is a standard exercise ball size, so a replacement is easy to find if you ever need one.
Who does it fit?
People between 152 and 180cm, which is the range the maker states. There is no gas lift, so height is set by the ball rather than adjusted.
Can I take the ball out and use it separately?
Yes. It lifts straight out of the base, which is why the exercise guide is in the box.
Do I have to inflate it myself?
Yes, and the pump is included. Expect to re-inflate once or twice in the first week: a new ball settles and loses a little firmness before it holds.
Does it have a backrest?
There is an adjustable metal support bar rather than a backrest you can lean into. If you want to lean back for long stretches, this is not the chair for that.
Will it roll away?
Two of the four castors lock, which is what stops it moving while you are getting on and off.
Can I sit on it all day?
Some people do. Many find it works better for part of the day, with a conventional chair for the rest. We would rather say that than sell it as a total replacement.
Does it fit under a standard desk?
Yes, it is built to standard desk height for the stated user range.
What weight will it take?
The manufacturer does not publish a figure for this model, so we are not going to invent one. If load capacity is the deciding factor, email us before you order and we will ask the supplier.
What colours can I get?
Black, Blue, Cool Grey, Forest with a brown base, Fuchsia, Green and Purple.
Is it hard to assemble?
No. The base takes a few minutes, and most of the time is inflating the ball.
What if the ball is punctured?
Under the Australian Consumer Law a product has to be of acceptable quality, and a ball that will not hold air out of the box is not. Tell us and we will fix it.
Is it good for back pain?
We are not going to tell you it treats anything. Some people find active sitting more comfortable than a fixed chair and some do not, and if you have a back problem the person to ask is a physiotherapist rather than a shop.
Is it noisy?
No. The castors roll quietly and there is no mechanism to make a sound.
Can I use it on carpet?
Yes. Castors move a little harder on thick carpet, which some people prefer anyway.
How much is delivery on the Balance Ball Chair?
Free on orders of $75 or more. Below that it is $27.50 including GST, whatever you order. Nothing is added at the end.
How long will it take to arrive?
5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. The handling time is the part before it leaves us and the 5 to 7 days is the delivery itself.
Is there a faster delivery option?
Not through the website. Every order goes on the same tracked service. If you need something by a particular date, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done.
Do you deliver across the whole of Australia?
Yes, every state and territory. We are an online supplier with no shop or showroom, which is part of how the pricing works.
Do the prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on this site is what you pay in Australian dollars, GST included.
Can I change my mind after it arrives?
You have 15 days under our own returns policy. Change of mind is not a legal right in Australia, so this is us choosing to offer it rather than a statutory return. Return postage is yours and a $39 handling charge applies to a change-of-mind return.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
Tell us and we will sort it. Under the Australian Consumer Law goods have to be of acceptable quality, match their description and do what we said they would, and if they do not that is our problem to fix rather than yours to pay for. Email theteam@customersupport.care with a photograph and your order number.
Can I cancel after ordering?
Until it ships, yes. Contact us within 12 hours, because most orders leave within 24. A 12.5 percent service and processing fee applies to a cancellation.
Do I get a receipt and a tracking number?
A receipt by email as soon as payment goes through, and a second email with the tracking number once the order ships.
What payment methods do you take?
Card payments through our checkout, and PayPal. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never stored by us.
What currency are your prices in?
Australian dollars. Every price is the price you pay in AUD, with no conversion at the end.
Is there a discount code?
Yes. `valued-customer` takes 15 percent off your goods at the cart. It applies to the products rather than to the delivery.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
No. We are an online supplier with no physical shop or showroom, and that is deliberate: the saving goes into the price rather than into a lease.
Can I buy several Balance Ball Chairs for an office?
Yes, and if you want more than a handful use the wholesale quote page and we will price it properly rather than making you add them to the cart one at a time.
