A door held by a single latch can be levered; two thick rods into the frame is a different proposition, and it is the specification worth comparing between safes.\n\nThe keypad takes a master code and a guest code, each 3 to 8 digits, and there are two manual keys for the day you forget both. The screen warns you before the batteries die, which is the failure that otherwise locks you out.\n\nThe alarm sounds on violent vibration and after three wrong entries. It is a deterrent rather than a barrier, and it works on the same principle as a car alarm: noise is unwelcome.\n\nInside, an LED light and a removable shelf, so it holds documents flat or divides into two.\n\nFour pre-drilled holes in the back and the base with expansion bolts included. Bolt it down. An 11kg safe that is not bolted down is a box with a handle on it, and this is the single most important thing on the page.\n\nOne thing has come off this listing. It previously suggested storing pistols. Firearm storage in Australia is regulated, and a licence holder has to use a safe built and installed to their state's requirements. This is not that safe, and we are not going to imply it is.",
